Low Point Bottom Out Swing Lesson by PGA Pro Tom Stickney Tom Stickney - A Top 100 Golf Teacher Tom Stickney – A Top 100 Golf Teacher

Hi I'm Tom Stickney and today I want to talk to you about your low point. When building clubs all descends starts to flatten out stay low to the ground and then go back up. So where the club bottoms out is vitally important for you to hit solid golf shots. Now on irons obviously we want to have a low point in front of the golf ball and on drivers only we want to have a low point behind the golf ball and we get more up on it. Now one of the best drills to do to encourage a low point to stay in front of the ball with the irons is to place a tee a couple of inches out from the golf ball there's no natural position just a couple of inches out.

So from here what I'm going to try to do is I'm going to try to hit that golf ball and will try to sweep the tee off the ground with my club head post impact. What that does is cause your pivot to move you forward so you can get the golf ball first the ground second which is where we want our low point. So here we go get set up correctly and all I want to do is focus on getting the tee now if the ball goes up in the air and the tee is still there that's ok but in a perfect world we'd like clip that tee off of the ground and as you can see tee is gone ball went up in the air and life is good.
