Hi I'm Tom Stickney and today I want to talk to you about chipping but we want to talk about those real pesky tight lied ones around greens. You know sometimes you'll find it might be wet it might be a little sparse grass or might be like this mat here just really really tight. So the biggest thing that people do on these particular lies is they forget that they're set up correctly. They are there set up in a way where they are sure that they're going to catch the ball 1st and the ground second. They get in here and they see that tight lie to try to help it up in the air lift up the air, and they end up hitting a lot of fat and thin shots which you don't want.

Well take the golf ball away and grab a tee, this is the easiest way to train your body to handle tight lies. You'll set up to the tee just like you with your normal chip shot ball back hands an weight forward and all you are going to do is work on clipping tees off the ground. If you can clip the tee off the ground this tight lie these golf balls are going to look like beach balls or tennis balls. So we always want to make sure that on these tiight lies we remember were set up correctly all we have to do is not let our mind our emotions get in the way. If you do that I promise you you'll get the ball close to the pin more often chips some tees and you'll see what I mean.
