Hi I'm Tom Stickney and today I want to talk to you about the transition and how you control the lower body during the transition. When people tend to transition we get confused on the do they bump or do they spin now what I want you to understand is your pivot motion controls a lot of things but in this particular example it controls and heavily influences where the club bottoms out OK where's the low point it descends it flattens out goes back up. So we obviously want to make sure they were hitting the golf ball first the ground second.

So when we take it to the top the hips are taking it in the right field so there has to be some transfer of weight from here into the lead toe kind of more diagonally towards right field. That rebalances our weight and allows the rear shoulder to drop the club under. Once we are in this condition now we can rotate as much as we want it be on our forward foot if you just slide from the top you're going to get the club stuck and you're going to go too deep from in to out. If you spin from the top you're going to send it back up and coming out to in. So remember transition there's a little bit of a bump that allows the club to come under then you cover it with your rear side coming through. So it is a little bit of bump and then a spin if you'll do that you can have a lot better chance to hit better shots on the golf course.
