Hi I'm Tom Stickney and today in putting I want to talk to you about reading greens. Now obviously reading greens is something that comes very individualized to people and when you squat down and look you might see some things I might see other things. That's one of the very good components a point. If you want to go on the web look at Mark Sweeney's A point I think you're fine if reading really does make a lot of sense to you you might want to take more analytical approach that is the first thing I would say. The 2nd thing I'll say is going to this particular protocol the 1st thing I'm going to do is after I hit my shot on the take a look while driving or walking on the green here I am going to receive a lot of information when I'm walking into the green. You see kind of here are parts of the green or what the surrounding typography looks like.

The 2nd thing I do is what I get to the green I'm going to look at the 4 corners to see what the over all complex looks like. Is it basically tilted this way this way it is this way in general. Once I have achieved that information I am going to see what it looks like from my golf ball. I'm looking what I see down the line and they're going to take a route through or around the hole if a time permits to understand what I see from the behind the hole or on the side to see those guys going to a large group talking about the pace of play, if you if you think about it you can do it. Then the last thing I gather that information oI am going to look for any anomalies in the green is there a rifge is there a big hump in the middle it really is or something they are bringing Is there something near that that might affect my particular putt overall. So once I have all that information now I can make a better guess as to what the ball's going into your if I do all that I have no idea just look at the general overall topography and you know there's a mountain here and a valley here probably going to go this way. So experiment with green reading and experiment with those particular ways of reading the green and if that doesn't work go give A-point a try.
