Hi I'm Tom Stickney and today I want to talk to you about in the mental serries how to control your pre-shot routine. How to focus on the process and not let the outcome bother you. A lot of times people get in here and take one waggle boom they go to the next shot two boom they go. The 3rd shot they shot they stand up here and they don't move. Well that doesn't help your mind to know your body to know when you're ready to focus and you're focusing on what you're supposed to. So you need to develop a pre-shot routine OK so basically what that pre-shot routine is I make all my decisions back here so when I do get up to the golf ball I know where my target is and what I'm trying to do.

When I approach the golf ball I am looking at my spot right here so I could line up my body up effectively. The 3rd thing I'm going to do is I'm going to one waggle look two waggles look. My 3rd waggle I'm looking at it correctly where all the balls start bouncing up once and go that is my pre-shot routine. Now does that mean it's right for you course not you need to develop your own but your pre-shot routine should help you focus on the process not the outcome. It should get you into your shot focus on your shot and the last thing you should do is you take the same other time when you start to when you finish. If you can do that and you control your pre-shot routine you are going to do a lot better at handling pressure and your shots when the chips are down.
