Low Running Pitch Shot Lesson by Tom Stickney Top 100 Teacher Tom Stickney - A Top 100 Golf Teacher Tom Stickney – A Top 100 Golf Teacher

Hi I'm Tom Stickney Golf Magazine Top 100 Instructor and today I want to talk to you about how to get the low burner. Every time people get in here to pitch you need to understand how to control your trajectory if you play the ball up your stance it has a tendency to go up and if you play the ball the middle of your stance it tends to go normal if you play the ball back to your stance it's goes low. You have to program the ball when it lands on the green if you're playing for a runner and you've got it up here it's not going to work or vice versa.

So to hit the low runner we want to put the ball back in our stance hands and weight forwards lean that spine just a little bit forward club is pointing at this belt loop right here. So all we're going to do is take the wrist hinge out we don't want to hinge the wrist a lot if we do it will chop down we'll spin a whole bunch so when we put the ball back lean a bit forward we're going to dead wrist it back and finish low. So here we go ball back hands and weight forward dead wrist finish low what's going to happen is that ball going to jump up in the air is going to hit the green it's going to tumble forward with the ball back and very little wrist hinge and finishing low those are 3 keys for you to take care of that low shot around the green.
