Tom Stickney – A Top 100 Golf Teacher
Hi I'm Tom Stickney and today I want to talk to you about being stacked at impact. You know I see a lot of players who are really working on their lower by trying to derive their lower body rather lower body I often wonder has their head has to fall back too much right shoulder to the lower too much of only stick in the ground. While using your hips is affected we certainly want to make sure we're using our hips effectively too much can be bad. So with the hips running from under us right shoulder lowered we tend to fat thin we get in trouble and we get kind of this reverse C type of look at impact here that curvature you see right there.
What I like to see people do is be more stacked at impact more this way as opposed to that way. As I said it didn't quite work that way 100 percent is a good way to think about it stops people from getting a lot of unsolid shots. So to work on being stack all I want you to feel like is if your head stays right on top of the ball you're rear shoulder covers the ball as opposed to dropping behind it so the head falls back my right shoulder lowers you're not going to be stack. So just easy little shots heads stays forward right shoulder covers it just like so we kind of finish on our forward foot. So this stack motion at impact is a great way of his really good iron shots just be real careful when you hjit those long clubs that you don't run out from under yourself and drop that head down and hit some funky ones.
