Hi I'm Tom Stickney and today I want to talk to you about width in your backswing. You know a lot of times people stand up and they take you to the top of they get a little narrow right here the arms kind of breakdown because let's face it none of us are getting any younger and none of us are getting more flexible. So as we take it back we get stuck here are flexibility stalls and then all we do is we break down arms and then it gives you a very short shoulder turn and a long arm swing which is what we don't want.

What we'd like to see is a big shoulder turn and a tighter arm swing and the way to get the arms out here is to make the right arm wider. The more the right arm looks like they have the more left arm breaks down the more the right arm is wide the more the left arm is straight. So to have better with the top make the full shoulder turn and keep your hands as far away from your head as you can and when you do that you're going to have much more stability in your going to hit the ball a lot further.
