Basic Tempo Lesson by PGA Pro Tom Stickney Tom Stickney - A Top 100 Golf Teacher Tom Stickney – A Top 100 Golf Teacher

Hi I'm Tom Stickney and today I want to talk to you about tempo. Now when people play golf we always more with the people like Freddie Couples you have marvelous tempo clubs seen to kind of go up and come down. We don't really get you wound up about people attempting to jerk it from the top then down. Now that doesn't mean that their tempo is poor it means their tempo is a little bit different than the normal tempo we see one and two. The basic difference of tempo's as you have players like Norman and Tiger and Price who swing very rapidly and then you have people like Payne Stewart, Gene Berger, Matt Kuchar ho swing very slowly.

It doesn't matter your tempo is your own tempo. Those guys get you slow for them the other guys getting fast for them bottom line for tempo is need to have your own tempo and figure out what works best for you. Now are you might find that with your perfect tempo as a level 7 level 6 will be to slow level 8 will be to fast. So I would urge you to go watch the practice facility and hit a lot of shots with different tempos, and see what works best for you. We all have our own personal tempos we all have our best tempos where we produce our best shots. So find your own personal tempo don't jerk it down from the top and I promise you will be a lot better.
