Hi I'm Tom Stickney and today I want to talk to you about the knockdown shot. You know a lot of times when you play there's wind into us the pin maybe in the back of the green there might be a little ridge up to the pin and things like that, or we might be a little bit nervous. So we want to squeeze that golf ball back met target or keep it low to the winds so what happens is this knockdown shot is going to fly lower and flatter it is going to come out like this is going to take one big hop and then kind of check and kind of release. So we know what the balls going to do so a knockdown shot is great when you're nervous when the pin is in the back of the green when there is a big hump in the middle of the green pin is on the back shelf you know things like that.

So it's a really good shot to play especially you know if you play in a windy climate or you had some issues with the wind you know. So our normal set up would be here all we're going to do is make one modification we're going to play the ball back in the stance we're going to take an extra clubs a little swing quite as hard. So the ball back in our stance an extra club we kind of lean forward and all we are going to do is just make a little 3 quarter golf swing and kind of finish low 1 2 and when I do that I lean the shaft forward that decreases dynamic loft brings the ball flight down and this can be a lot easier to squeeze this straight and also deal with the pressure the wind you know other stuff won't affect you. So remember to learn the knockdown shot that's going to really help you to be able to control your golf balls when it is windy and when it matters have fun.
