Hi I'm Tom Stickney and today I want to talk to you about shaping shots. I get the question all the time how wrong with the ball right to left how do I move the ball left or right when I watch them you know I see some trees are going to do something or the pin is tucked back behind a bunker are going to get one way or the other. First thing I will tell you about whem it comes to moving the golf ball I suggest you hit your normal shot shape more often than not until you get a lot of time to practice. I still say if you are practicing most of the time you stick with one shot pattern even though sometimes you have to play over a bunker it tends to make it will be easier to play if you know what's going to happen. Now if you want to move the golf ball one way or the other all we have to do is shift our path. Now if we want to move the ball from right to left the path has to be further to the right they were our face angle is pointing at impact.

The ball starts most at the face angle at impact and will curve away from the path. So if you have your path going in right field and your face angle is left to the path you release a little bit the ball will start this way and curve like so. If you come from the inside you hang on as you would be shove the face right of the path the ball is going further right. So remember line up to start off a little bit more to the right and really swing out to right field with the big release and that's the feeling of getting that ball to curve this way we're going to while right path and left face. Now the opposite is true for a fade we're going to aim more left it's going to feel like we're coming across the golf ball and it's going to feel like we're hanging onto it. Once again we want our path left and our face right in the path to create a fade. Very very important if you understand it always goes path face target whether your fading the golf ball or drawing the golf ball. The key is to allow our alignment to help you shift the path that way you do good more with alignment and less you try to re-route your hands and arms and do all sorts of things like that. So remember to shape the golf ball you need to shift the path her to the right to draw it or further to the left to fade it. If you'll do that in you will be able to move shots right left at will it's going to take some practice but it's a lot of fun.
