Hi I'm Tom Stickney and today I want to talk to you about everybody's favorite pitch shot the flop shot. So in order to flop the golf ball like Phil what we want to do is put the ball more forward in our stance. We want to open the blade a bit more because it gives us obviously the most loft possible. So we have a ball forward we have a blade open and obviously we're going to aim just a little bit more to the left because the ball's going to square off to the right based on the open club face. So ball forward face open all we want to do is make sure that we come through we balance that champagne glass on the face of the club as long as we can.

If we keep that champagne glass on the face the blade will stay open and the ball will flop. So remember speed here is your friend that's going to help you get the ball up in the air and have a really softly landing. So balls forward blade is open we're going to aim a little bit left and all we're going to do is keep the champagne glass on the face, and if you can see their ball jumped up in the air came down soft. That's the key when you get in trouble do all this with the face keep that club face right there like that, and you're going to just soft Phil Mickelson flop shots.
