Pitch Shot Wrist Break Lesson by PGA Pro Tom Stickney Tom Stickney - A Top 100 Golf Teacher Tom Stickney – A Top 100 Golf Teacher

Hi I'm Tom Stickney and today I want to talk to you about how to pitch the ball off tight lies. You know I love to use a mat when pitching the golf ball because the ball sits very flat and it makes it very important for you to catch the ball first. Now obviously one massive hit fat with the ball will jump up in the air we know you can tell when you hit it fat, but to hit a ball off the mat with a pitch to hit it solid that's a different story. So in order to hit balls off these tight lies we want to make sure the balls the center to the back part of our stance lead our weight forward but the butt of the club still here this belt just above our belt buckle.

When we put ourselves in this condition that basically ensures that when we catch the golf ball first the ground 2nd the only way we can screw that up is our weight falls back or if we use our hands. Very very important to keep your setup condition constant all the way through impact. Now the one thing you have to do is keep you or your rear shoulder moving if you keep your shoulder moving the clubhead lag behind hands and we're going to hit the ball more solid. So here we go ball center to back hands and weihgt are forward all we're going to do is stay right here, and we stayed right there obviously you can hear that it sounds nice solid that is how you can pitch off tight lies more successfully.
