Hi I'm Tom Stickney Golf Magazine Top 100 Instructor and today were going to talk about stopping the golf ball on the greens. You know all too often people hit a shot and the ball bobbles across the back of the green they get in trouble. So how do we make sure that we stop the golf ball on the greens? Well there's 2 ways we can do it you can do one you can do the other but you can't do both the same time.

The 1st thing you can do is you can play a little of a flop shot and you can hit the ball higher so the steeper the descent angle the bore the ball comes in like this as opposed to like that will make the golf ball stop that's the 1st way so hit it higher. The 2nd way you can make a golf ball startling is to put more spin on the golf ball and that's means it's going to come down it's going to have a little bit flatter and that spin is going to check up and it's going to stop the golf ball. So remember you can either hit higher and softer or you can hit lower with more spin you can't do both figure out which one works best for you.
