Hi I'm Tom Stickney Golf Magazine Top 100 Instructor and today I want to talk to you about how to hit that low spinner. A lot of times with wedges people think to hit low spinners they tend to throw there hands in it they tend to think what's going to happen is that the club goes like this the ball runs up the face of the club and it spins on the grooves. That is incorrect let me show you how to do it we want to do is put the ball back in our stance you want to lean our spine forward putting more weight on our forward foot that increase the angle of attack it helps us to move the low point getting more forward so we chop down on the golf ball giving it a little bit more spin.

The 2nd thing we're going to do if that's what set the club want to make sure that the handle leaves the blade. when the handle leaves the blade you chop down on the golf ball creating more backspin and that's going to give you that spinner shot that you're looking for. So balls back in the stance we lean spine all right ball forward keep the handle leading set handle leads. The ball is going to come out flatter lower it's going to take one hop then kind of trickle. Now remember that you have to use the right type of ball a TaylorMade pinta a Titleist prov1 you can't use hard balls and have them spin so experiment with the ball experiment with the shot I'll tell you what you will find it easier around the green.
