Tom Stickney – A Top 100 Golf Teacher
In this week's tip I want to talk to you about getting the snakes out of the bunker so you never shell out over the back of the green again. You know golfers they get in here and they have this whole short bunker shot and Wham-O. All of a sudden it flies about 40 yards over the green there's nothing more infuriating because usually you land in another bunker and you do the same thing and you go back and forth. I'm going to show you a neat little drill that's going to help you to get out of the bunker without shelling out over the back of the green. So what I'm going to do is I'm a draw 2 lines in the bunker those are my snakes a couple inches behind and a couple inches in forward of the golf ball, and the reason why we want to do that is it helps us to get the ball out of the bunker.
I want to make sure that you hit the back line you stay in the sand and hit the ball you enter into the front line and then you come up. If you get both of the snakes out of the bunker you're going to be much better in the forward line is very very important because if you come up with a golf ball that's when you're going to shell out over the back of the green. So once again we draw on our 2 snakes they're going to come bite your ankles if you don't get them out of the bunker. So here we go get the snakes out of the bunker, and what we can see the 1st snake is go on the 2nd snake is go and the ball jumped out of the bunker life is good. So get the snakes and you'll never shell one over the back of the green again.
