Hi I'm Tom Stickney Golf Magazine Top 100 Instructor and today I want to talk to you about your routine. You know a lot of people approach the golf ball and they take waggle or two really wiggle around they look up and off they go and then some people see will take a lot of time and go through a very much thought of whole preset routine which is better. Of course having pre-shot routine it's very methodical is a little bit better way because it programs your mind to focus in on the shot at hand. A lot of time with people just jump up here they start wagging all the sudden they're still thinking about 16 other things but when you go through your routine and you focus in on whatever it is that you do your mind is cued into hey we need to start to concentrate.

Now not only should you have a repeatable pre-shot routine but you're pre-shot routine should take the same amount of time on the 1st tee shot on number one as it does to the last putt of number 18. So if you take the time to have a pre-shot routine is definable and takes the same amount of time you're going to find a lot better shots now let me show you mine and then you can kind of pick your own. What I tend to do after I make all my decisions behind the golf ball I come in I set up one to waggle look two waggles looking 3rd waggle look at my target remember that or if I will pick the club up and go, and that is my pre-shot routine so here again doesn't mean if yours takes less time or more time the bottom line is have a consistent pre-shot routine he'll do that you play a lot better golfer.
