Hi I'm Tom Stickney Golf Magazine Top 100 Instructor and today I want to talk to you about how to hit a bump and run. Bump and runs are really easy we're going to put the ball back in our stance hands and weight forward the key to lean your spine to the left with your spine it lean to the left it helps to put your weight forward all you do is put your hands and arms forward for a moment you know lower case Y but when your hands are on the club shaft. So we have the ball back spine leans forward and hands arms club are forward and all going to low back low through.

Now if you have to put any more effort into it then you have the wrong club like I have a 9 right here that you can see when I put the ball back hands weight forward low back low through. The ball flies a certain distance and tends to run a certain distance if that's not applicable then change club the 7 iron. So now look what happens ball back and the weight forward low back low through, and that's going to have a little bit more zip when it hits the ground. So you have to determine how far you want to go and that's for you to figure out by pedaling whether it's a 9 a 7 or a gap wedge all these things work in your favor. So when the time around the green pedalling and I promise you you'll be a better player on the greens.
