Hi I'm Tom Stickney Golf Magazine Top 100 Instructor and today I want to talk to you about the grip. Most of the time when I see the grips the left hands on the club at one position the right hands on with another could be like this it could be like that but seldom do they work as a unit. Let me show you a good way to make sure that they work cohesively 1st you want to put your left hand on the golf club as I look down the V between my index finger the tumb points towards my right shoulder I can see 2 and a half maybe 3 knuckles on my left hand. Next I'll take my right hand and I want to make sure that my right hand V matches my left hand V.

Therefore both these are parallel and running towards my right shoulder I know that to be true because when I open my hand my palms face one another as opposed to oppose one another. So once again to make sure that your V's are running in the right direction put your left hand on there 1st get this V going somewhere toward your right shoulder. Have your right hand come in and match that and now that the V's are parallel at runnig toward your right shoulder from there you're going to be able to make a full wonderful release and you can have a lot more control of that golf ball. So the grip must work together if your palms do not face one another you can have a lot of trouble.
