Tom Stickney – A Top 100 Golf Teacher
In this week tip with your driver I want to teach you how to find your speed. Now people hit golf balls, and they find on the range they have a certain speed with a ball tends to go pretty straight. I know that my perfect speed is somewhere around 8 on a scale of one to 10. I know if I get up to about a 9 and a half that's a little too fast for me I know if I get 7, 6, 5 that's too slow for me. So what you have to figure out is where your speed is and you need to be able to gauge that internally because when you get under pressure with water lapping out of bounds to the right.
You tend to get into guide mode you know your target swing too easy swing into easy can get you in trouble you get a little mad you get a little adrenaline going. You might start swinging too fast or pressure swing in too fast is also a big issue. So remember you have to find your speed so whatever speed works for you on the range try to find that speed out here on the golf course and if I find my speed I'm going to find more fairways.
