Why Choose a 3 Wood Over Your Driver by Tom Stickney Tom Stickney - A Top 100 Golf Teacher Tom Stickney – A Top 100 Golf Teacher

Hi I'm Tom Stickney Golf Magazine Top 100 Instructor and today I want to talk to you about your driver vs your 3 wood off the tee. OK Everybody is guilty of standing up here and banging drivers in the weeds all day and just continued to get that shot over and over and over again and wondered why we played poorly. Well we just felt in the trees all day.

Well Jack Nicholson pretty brilliant you know among other ways but he was smart to get out if the driver wasn't working he could take his 3 wood has a lot more accurately. So remember if you're struggling on your driver tee up that 3 wood hit it through it off the ground on the tee and use the loft of the 3 wood and the shortness of the 3 wood hit the ball in the fairway. It's not going to go quite as long but I promise it's going to be a heck of a lot easier if you play golf in the middle of fairway as opposed to being in the hay somewhere try it.
