3 Fairway Wood Extension Tip by Tom Stickney
3 Fairway Wood Extension Tip by Tom Stickney Tom Stickney - A Top 100 Golf Teacher Tom Stickney – A Top 100 Golf Teacher

Extension you know a lot of times when you hit a 3 wood you try to help the ball up in the air you lack extension when you try to help the ball up in the air the low point is back in here you come up to the golf ball you nip the top of that golf ball the ball has to roll on the ground or comes out very flat and low. So a good way to make sure that we extend through and beyond the golf ball and keep those arms with better condition is to take a tee and put it out here in front of a golf ball. Now I have this tee about 2 club heads out in front of a golf ball.

My goal is not to hit this tee because it would be probably pretty much too impossible to do with a 3 wood but the feeling is to hit some shots and really feel like I'm hitting the golf ball and I keep the club low to the ground to hit that tee as I move through. That extended type of feeling will help you to stay down and through the golf ball more it's not really imperative if you get the tee or not we're just trying to make sure that we go down to a little bit more so we get the ball up in the air. So remember if you're trying to help the ball up in the air or you lack extension you feel that chicken wing put a tee down there about two club heads in front of a golf ball and hit some shots trying to clip that tee off the ground as you come through that particular feeling will help you to stay low and help you to move down to the golf ball a bit better so the ball goes up in the air and you hit it more solid with a 3 wood time in and time out.
