Close to the green you want to be as accurate as possible so when you do chip you need to understand where the blade points post-impact controls where the ball goes. So if you visualize it there's a gun barrel on this blade wherever that blade is pointing when the ball leaves the blade is where the ball's going to go. So if I hit this chip shot and I finish with my blade open you can see the blade was like that the ball went to the right.
If I hit this chip shot my blade closes the ball went to the left. So what you need to make sure you do is that the blade always goes where you want I'm trying to hit this ball just a little bit out to the right of this particular pin so I'm going to put the ball back hands the weight forward and make sure I control my blade and when I do that the ball starts out to the right and tends to break back. So remember where your blades aligned post-impact is where the ball is going to begin in chipping if you can't control your blade alignment chipping you can't control the ball is going to end up.
