Hi I'm Tom Stickney Golf Magazine Top 100 Instructor and today I want to talk to you about course management understanding what this the shot in the site is telling you. OK here I am I got a decent lie this little rough of a little depression I have a pin that's cut short. Now what could I do well I could see that here and I could play it like a bunker shot play it up my stance and fly the whole way OK That looks great on style points but what happens if I missed a shot what happens if I come in here and I go on under it and it goes short.

Well sure it funnels down this collection area and if you can see almost went in the bunker. Now what I haven't thought of me I have a little bit of mown down the area so you know a higher percentage shot might be in this decent lie might be putting it in the middle to the back of my stance, and punching it into that slope and get it up there. You have to figure out what works best don't automatically always grab your 6 degree sand wedge that and throw your lob shots in there because this is a prime example if you have short it's probably going to end up in the bunker and if you get up in the bunker or that long rough over there instead of making 3 4 5 you're going to make 4 5 6 and 7. So remember take the time to look at the situation to survey the situation sometimes the low road is much better than the high road and sometimes it's exactly opposite only experimentation will help you understand.
