A lot of people don't really understand how to control their distance they'll use one club and they might hit it easier or they might hit harder. Well we talked in an earlier tip about making that putting stroke type of feel. So you see I have a particular 9 iron right here if I make my putting stroke feel you know that ball goes a certain distance OK that might or might not be the correct distance if I come over here and I grab a 7 iron and I make that same putting stroke type of feeling.

Obviously the less loft on of the 7 iron makes the ball go further OK Hey look at that I made it all right. So what you need to understand is you need to practice with different clubs because the shortest of chip shots might be a lob wedge the longest of chip shot might be a 5 iron I don't know but remember if you have to put any more effort into it than this. You have the wrong club so take the time to experiment and piddle around with distance control by using different clubs when you chip if you do that you'll always be able to control your distances when you chip.
