Specialty Putter Shot from Just off the Green by Tom Stickney Tom Stickney - A Top 100 Golf Teacher Tom Stickney – A Top 100 Golf Teacher

Hi I'm Tom Stickney Golf Magazine Top 100 Instructor and today I want to show you a little specialty putting shot it's really good when you're just a little bit off the green. You can see this grass a little bit longer I really don't want to use a chip shot I really don't want to use my hybrid. I really like a putt it but I'm afraid that it might be getting dumped up in this little grass.

So all you're going to do is if you want to use that putter just off the green you know a little bit heavier lie situation is put the ball back in your stance a little bit and kind of lean your weight forward and when you make your stroke the kind of pop down the golf ball. What it does is it bobbles through that grass get a bit more overspin and it will come out just a little bit easier. So remember to experiment with the putter back your stance hands and weight forward when you pop down it will get just enough momentum to get over that fringe.
