Reading Putts Tip by PGA Teaching Pro Ged Walters

When it comes to reading greens, you can't really always trust what your eyes see or don't see. Sometimes we can get an obvious breaks, easy here for this, putt that I've got. Uh, we can see the slope you can see where I'm stood, where the ball is. Uh, but other times we're on more subtle breaks. So how can we read the break?

So the best way I find to do it is to use the things that you're stood on all the time, which is your feet, because you can feel the direction that gravity is going to pull you in. If I was to stand here and face you, well, you can see if I stand normally how I am tilted more to my right, as you look at it to the left hand side of the screen. Now that's because gravity is pulling me down with the slope. So if gravity is pulling me, it's definitely going to pull the ball.
