Tom Stickney – A Top 100 Golf Teacher
In this week's tip I want to talk to you about the roles of your lead and your trail hand. The lead hand which is the one closest the target controls the putter face. So all of a sudden if my forward hand stays stable the putter face stays stable. So if I'm having trouble with the line of my putts then I need to putt with one hand only and that being your forward hand. The trail hand controls the loft of the putter and you can see if I keep this wrist bent and this V. right here that the loft doesn't change.
So if you're having trouble with the speed of your putts with your trail hand. Now everybody has a feeling that they're better with some people like to be more of a lead hand puller or some people like to be more of a rear hand pusher. The bottom line is understand what problems you're having on the green is that line or is it speed and then putt one handed to help you to work on that when you get out on the golf course.
