Club Loft Choice on Up Slope Lie by Tom Stickney Tom Stickney - A Top 100 Golf Teacher Tom Stickney – A Top 100 Golf Teacher

Hi I'm Tom Stickney Golf Magazine Top 100 Instructor and today I want to talk to you about an up hill lie. Now when you have an uphill lie a lot of times people talk about instructions to lean your spine with the slope. When you lean your spine your shoulders with the slope that put you back here your ball position is going to be normal you're going to take a club extra to counteract the slope, and you make your normal motion. The only thing that happens is when you do when you deloft your club by taking one less OK it's going to come out lower and flatter.

The one thing you have to pay attention to is when you lean your spine back to the right it tends to add loft to the club so you might have to take 2 clubs stronger if the hills not to much. Now let me show you one other thing if the hill is not very steep in front of you and you want to keep the ball down you can also take one club extra kind of lean into the slope a little bit and make your normal motion and when you do that it's going to come out a little bit flat I would experiment that why take the golf course. So remember when you're on an uphill slope take one or 2 clubs extra to make up for the added loft that's going to happen on this slope lean your shoulders and spine with the slope, and make your normal swing if you'll do that you're going to find a lot more success on these uphill lies.
