Left Handed Golf Tips: Soft vs Packed Lie Bunker Shots by Tom Stickney

Lefties only golf tip: Hi I'm Tom Stickney Golf Magazine Top 100 Instructor and today I want to talk to you about the differences between fluffy lies and hard pact sand lies in the bunker. You know a lot of times people talk to me about you know I don't know how to play the 2 different shots and I have a problem well the thing you can do is you can see having pushed a lot of sand over here and you see this fluffy lie sitting up on a big tuft of sand. Here let's take it all the sand away to see here in here and I have more of hard pack in the bunker so if you want to simulate your own golf course at home fluffy versus hard pack lies you can do so just by moving the sand around that's the 1st thing. The 2nd thing is you need to understand how these 2 lies react it's all about friction OK here what I have hard pack sand I'm not going to have as much friction and the ball is going to jump out of it quicker. So in order to come in and hit shots here you don't have ht them as hard but also you don't want to come at this ball very steep because if you come at the hard packed lie very steep what's going to happen is the club is going to bounce the ball and go across the back of the green.
