Tom Stickney – A Top 100 Golf Teacher
Hi I'm Tom Stickney Golf Magazine Top 100 Instructor and today I want to talk to you about the grip size. What you have to remember is you know you're going to use your grips to fine tune your ball flight. If you have a smaller grip the club is held more in my fingers and what that does is that increases hand action makes it easier to release the ball moves more right to left. OK if I tend to fade the golf ball I might want to thicker grips that puts it more in my palm that makes it harder to release and takes out some hand action.
So remember experiment with your grip size you can see my hands are very very small I could wear cadet medium gloves and I have huge golf grips. These are these are mid size grips plus 3 wraps why because I move the golf ball left or right every single time so I want to ensure that with these thick grips that when I hit it that I have very little hand action the ball might go 40 yards right but it's not going to go one yard to the left and I do that by altering my grip size. So remember fiddle around with your grip size and your have a lot more control of your ball flight.
