Hi I'm Tom Stickney Golf Magazine Top 100 Instructor and today I want to talk to you about your grip pressure. A lot of times people don't really understand what grip pressure does or how it can control or can give you lack of control of the clubhead the club face. What I tell people is what I hold the golf club I should it should have a little play in it like so but it shouldn't twist out of my hands if I hold it too tight it doesn't have any play in it. So this group pressure and yes is very relative to all players but remember if you're to Lucy goosey the club has the bounce around in your hands and it too has to flop around and he lose control of the clubhead at the clubface.

If it's too tight for the club to the not move it all the wrist have a hard time hitting it all of a sudden you're going to have a tendency to leave the ball to the right of your intended target you like your right handed players. So you have to find a consistent grip pressure that gives you a little bit more control people who fade the golf ball who have more right to left might have a little bit higher grip pressure than the people who tend to look like a lot due to their different releases but what I would suggest is you come to practice facility and you try it it's a shot to see what Lucy goosey does you hit some shots and you try to feel what supertight does. Then you try to find grip pressures in the middle and what you'll find is a certain grip pressure is going to help you to have the shot at your capable of. So remember you have to figure out your own grip pressure based on what type release and what type of ball flight you'd like to see.
