Hi I'm Tom Stickney Golf Magazine Top 100 Instructor and today I want to talk to you about some troubleshooting happen what happens if you hit the ball fat. A lot of times people with their irons tend to get behind it and we tend to behind it obviously it tracks distanceyou have you know a very hard time hitting the ball consistently. So what happens when you get the ball fat? Usually when you hit the ball fat the club descends flattens out hits the ground back here and that's usually a result of your weight falling backwards or you know your hands are added.

So what we want to do to practice it in helping you to move through it I want you to draw a line with your foot just like so you can see I have a line drawn right here and all I'm going to practice on doing is taking practice swings and making a divot in front of that line. What happens if I'm on backwards using my hands the divot tends to fall behind the line. So once I get those divots consistently in front of the line then I take a golf ball put it on the line and I practice making swings with the divto in front of the line if you can do that I promise you'll hit fat less often.
