Tom Stickney – A Top 100 Golf Teacher
In this week's tip I want to talk to you about the super long putts. As you can see with this particular putt it goes up drops down over that hump and then cascades back to the hole. This is a very very long putt and it's one that we have to make a few modifications on in order for us to get the ball to the hole. So the first thing I'm going to do after we read the putt is we're going to make sure that we stand up a little bit taller that gives our shoulders more room to swing back and forth.
The 2nd thing I'm going to do is I'm going to widen my stance little bit to give me a little bit more stability because the last thing I want to do as I make this bigger swing start to wiggle around. So I'm going to stand up taller and I'm going to widen my stance. From there I'm going to focus on trying to make a centered and stable hit on the ball, and as you can see that ball had no problem getting all the way to the hole. Not a bad putt best part about it is that I don't have to make a second one.
