Tom Stickney – A Top 100 Golf Teacher
Hi I'm Tom Stickney Golf Magazine Top 100 Instructor and today I want to talk to you about fixing your slice if it's a face issue. If it's a face issue and the blade is hanging open the 1st thing I suggest you do is look at your grip make sure that the V forms between the index finger the thumb when both hands are rotated to the right of center point more toward your right shoulder. As I look down I see 2 possibly 3 knuckles on my left hand my right hand will come in here and match this. So now my V are parallel and running toward my right shoulder my palms are facing one another. This stronger grip will help the club shut down a little bit easier you'll find that if your grip is more on top or even more to the left you're going to have a hard time shutting down the face. So always make sure you can see the V's forming between the index and the thumb pointing towards your right shoulder that will help you to stop slicing the ball and control that face angle a little bit easier.
