There are two topics that drive fear into the heart of most golfers, to a degree where most golfers even are afraid to say the words yips or shanks. It is like saying Macbeth in the theater people just refuse to do it thinking that if you say yips or shanks it will bring it about. that thing to happen to them and the yips is a thing we're going to focus on. Now yes he's a bit of a broad general term basically encompasses the struggles to putt. Particularly from close range you might say well he's got the yips and sometimes it's not that they've just got a bad stroke or they're just not very good at the sort of parts of the game. For some of the amateur golfers you see so much to a physical affliction as they set up over a putts they might have decent technique from long range but that as they get near to the needs of the hole near to the green the the hands don't do what the brain wants.

The hands to do you know the hands should swing back and threw in a nice smooth action but the hands don't do that some of these start twitching and flicking I'm not suggesting that every time you miss a putt from this range. It's because you've got the yes sometimes you'll set up and you'll make a lovely smooth stroke and you'll hit a decent putts and it will just miss but it doesn't necessarily mean that you had the yips. It might just have had a bad putt he might have just had on the wrong line but if you set up to the ball and you make a stroke there's nothing like a proper putting stroke and misses by a long long way then chances are that you might start to feel that you're getting the yips early on. You see is almost a thing that you you catch you know you want you've got the it's very difficult to get rid of it comes pretty quick but it's a bit longer to get rid of. So in this next series of videos we're going to explain a bit more about what the yips are and hopefully how we can work on removing them from your games. Like I said it's not a good thing to have similar to a shank if we can get rid of shanks get ready yes we'd all be a lot happier by golf games.
