Pitching is an interesting term, some people could use it with chipping. What's the difference? Well, your shot further when you pitching, if we look behind me here, um, my target is the blue flag. So I've probably got around about 30 yards from here to where I need the ball to go. Um, so the ball is going to be longer in the air and that then means that I'm more pitching the ball, the chip in it.
Now, is there any difference in how we set up it then how we approach the shot? Yes, there is the keys to it because we're generating a little bit more energy, even though it's still part of what I would call a finesse type of shot. We want to be a little bit wider with our base. We want to be able to control the extra energy that we're going to generate from our pitching swing. So we want to be a little bit wider so we can maintain that balance. We still want to be a fraction of pressure into our lead side.
