Lag in the golf swing is often misunderstood and regularly overlooked by club golfers. Creating lag is the process of adding some angle between the shaft of the golf club and the arms during the backswing and downswing phase. The releasing of the lag can generate a good amount of club head speed and is also responsible for squaring the club head during the impact phase.
