Follow Through And Finish Your Golf Swing - (Video) Lesson by PGA Pros Pete Styles and Matt Fryer

The balance displayed by the world's best golfers as they follow through to the end position of their golf swings is often something that amateur golfers should be encouraged to focus on. In this video Matt and Pete will explain the importance of driving the bodyweight from the rear foot towards the front foot and drive onto a balanced left side whilst also clearing the bodyweight from the rear heel and up onto the tiptoe. This classic follow-through position should be held until the golf ball lands, as this helps to ingrain the muscle memory so the golfer has a consistent start but also a consistent finish point to the golf swing.

Now Pete if we were to stand on a competition tee on a Saturday morning we looked at some of the finishing positions. We would see I think we'd see some weird and wonderful things if we're to stand on a tour range or a tour tee I think we'd see pretty much a similar position every time. So how do we go from Saturday mornings to the tour tee finish?

Certainly the tour tee would be much more consistent wouldn't it we did order 50 different golfers and probably put them in a similar sort of model follow through position you and I could see there. If we look at the first tee of the club competition at the driving range of it well it might be a lot different follow through some move in one way some move in the other way. Now you've got to consider that tour pros know what they're doing so why don't we all try and copy that's pro right follow through and I think there's a couple of key reasons why people don't do that and we start off with the understanding of what you should be doing and really good drill to boot.
