Creating A Powerful Lag And Crisp Ball Strike - (Video) Lesson by PGA Pros Pete Styles and Matt Fryer

During this video Matt and Pete will explain in detail the concept of allowing the hands to win the race during the downswing phase. We will draw an imaginary finishing line between the lead shoulder and the golf ball and aim for the butt end of the golf club to cross this imaginary line during the downswing prior to the club head crossing this imaginary line. Hence the concept that the hands win the race. This in turn creates a much better strike and impact position and also allows the golfer to take a divot after they have struck the golf ball which should produce more consistent, straighter and longer iron shots.

A couple of key components of really good quality golf shots would be adding power and then adding a crisp strike. Whenever you go on watch the world's best play them on t.v. you hear chance to see them live or even just good to elite players at your club level. Anyone hitting the ball nicely has that real crisp strike and that powerful impact position. Whereas a lot of golfers maybe struggle to feel like they really get hold of their own shots they don't feel powerful and particularly they don't feel like they get a crisp strike.

The sound isn't there this is off the clubface isn't there and what can often be lacking in that impact position is the correct use of the lag. Good players understand like good players know how to use it how to create it and how to deliver it to the back of the ball to produce powerful crisp iron shots. Your job now Matthew to show everybody at home how we can use like powerful crisp iron shots please. Perfect as you know if you use correct play it can create some beautiful golf shots and give you that feeling that you know when you have hit on a great I only think I got that one it was beautiful I want more of that.
