Control of the distance that you hit your chip shots is very, very important. Being able to get the ball closer to the hole means that you've got a better chance of getting up and down from the side of the green. But how are we going to do it in a more simplified way? Let me show you if we think about the length of the arms movement in the swing, and we trust that the tempo is going to be the same each time. Then the further I move my arms, the more energy I'm going to put into the golf ball, and that's going to control my distance.
The two key components to it are not trying to force the distance and make sure that the downswing is delivered by the chest, a small rotation of the chest, which is going to then make sure that the tempo has remained and same. It's going to take away the, the needs of throw the hands in the arms, through the impact and try and help the ball up into the air, and you're going to be able to control that distance. Let me show you what I mean. So behind me here, I've got two flags so I got one here the red one, the white one is probably about another eight feet further on.
