As you look at the hole behind me I have a gulley that I need to clear here at Bighorn so I need to have the proper trajectory to make the ball carry the distance that I want. So there are times when I need to hit higher and there are times I need to hit lower and there are times on needed obviously my normal trajectory. So your normal ball position for 3 wood is somewhere around your left armpit to your logo somewhere around here if I put the ball up closer to my forward foot obviously the ball is going to tend to go a little bit higher say is going to carry a little bit further. If I put the ball back towards the left side of my sternum a little bit behind my logo obviously the ball is going to tend to go a little bit lower.

So when you have to control your trajectory and you need hit high shots higher and softer or lower and more penetrating experiment with your ball position because when you look at holes like this sometimes the wind makes you have to hit it lower sometimes you need to carry it further you need higher you have the wind behind you you know so you can avoid the gulley. So remember you must control your trajectory on your 3 wood and to do that the easiest way is to put the ball forward and back in your stance and that will alter the trajectory remember if you put it more forward toward your left foot it goes higher if you put it back towards your rear foot it tends to go lower that will affect your distances. So you can have to experiment with it on the golf course but remember higher and lower and normal will help you to control your trajectory on the 3 woods and you had better time in and time out.
