Fairway Woods Tip by PGA Teaching Pro Ged Walters

When it comes to fairway woods, whether we're hitting the ball off the tee or hitting the ball off the fairway. It's important that we have the same principles and the same idea of the task. Now, when it comes to off the tee, first of all, one of the big mistakes I see is people teeing the ball off really high. Now, if we think about it, the head isn't very high at all.

So if I was only to show that much of the tee and place it there, you can see that the golf ball is going to strike center or even a fraction higher than center. So if you've got a tee, which is too high, you're going to miss strike all the time. I mean, almost a point where you take the paint off the top of the driver, because the contact will be so much on the top. So what we want to look at is a really, really low tee, almost a quarter of an inch off the ground. Where am I going to tee up? So the first shot I'm going to hit here is teed up.
