One of the key sort of successful execution of a green side bunker shot is making sure that the sand is taken first. So a little drill that you can practice if you've got a nice practice facility, like we've got here. If I was to draw a line in the sand with the toe end of my wedge, my golf ball would be more on this side of the line. So being able to practice taking the sand first is crucial to that consistency and the confidence in your execution.
So from here, if I was to take my setup to this line, so it might wider stance knees flexed slightly opened club face, keeping the pressure on my lead side. I want to make swings where I can just brush the line. If I can get good at brushing the line that shows where the entry point into the sand for me and the line here, the ball there. That means I'm going to get good at sand first and then I'm going to be able to throw the golf ball out with the sand.
