Hi I'm Tom Stickney Golf Magazine Top 100 Instructor and the first part of our distance tips with our driver I want to make sure we understand what being realistic is. If you take a look at my normal golf swing I have very slow overall tempo I don't generate a gigantic amount of speed I don't have a real gripping change of direction. So for me to come in to say I want to get 50 more yards that is unrealistic for me to get maybe 10 more yards maybe 15 when it comes to carry and roll it is more realistic.

So the one thing I must caution you about when you're looking for more distance ask when you're playing partners ask when you're professionals what is realistic for me. Remember you're never going to be satisfied if you're trying to have unrealistic distance expectations so most people here 15 yards tops some people 5 some people 20 but most of us that are around that to the 15 yard gap most of the time that close carry role. So remember you have to be realistic if you want to understand distance.
