There is one club or set of clubs that we actually see top shots from amateur golfers more than anything else, and that is the fairway woods. Now the problem here is we have got a very long club with out much loft, and generally speaking we do not have a tee it is just the ball sitting down on the ground. So to get underneath this golf ball and get this ball up in the eye can be quite difficult to get in and I in generally shorts a club with lost him a driver generally a bigger club out on a tape but if I weigh what is kind of the the worst case scenario a long shot not much loft. For a lot of golfers the loft encourages them to have the ball to fall forwards in their set up. So they going to play the ball seen near to the left instep having the ball to fall forwards can then actually they think they're going to hit up on the ball and hit the ball nice and high. The problem is if the ball is on the ground how can you hit the ball well that's really going to happen when you've got the ball on the ground and you're trying to hit up if you going to top the ball and chances are you going to get the club hitting the floor before the ball all then hitting the top of the ball. So we've got top shots or the thin shots both coming from the same area and both coming from the same incorrect ball position. So actually having the ball a little bit further back in your set up might help you.

So I'm not advocating behind center but having the ball positioned around about, or a 3 wood on the top of the bought for 5 would particularly. If you don't have the ball in a very good light have it further back have yourself hitting down a little bit more trying to sweep up on this ball is only easy when it's teed up if it's down on the floor particular not in a very good light it's not to be better if we strike down on the ball slightly and use the loft on the club face to hit the ball up into the then all the all the things that we just talked about in the previous shots still need to apply to the 3 wood. So we need a good knee flex good spine angle staying down over the ball with the body staying down over the ball with the hands in the arms and I can say this is one of the top of shots. So if you are topping it and thinning it with all the clothes trying to not top and thin it with a 3 wood is going to be quiet or quick little shots. So let's make sure the ions in the driver working 1st and then progressing on to the fairway woods.
