Hi I'm Tom Stickney Golf Magazine Top 100 Instructor and today I want to talk to you about how to make sure that you have balance. When I'm hitting a longer iron like right here the 3 iron in my set what's going to happen is when I get set up a lot of times I'm going to wiggle around and that wiggling around is going to cause me to hit poor shots. Where does the wiggling originate, it originates from your set up you have to remember that when you get set up correctly especially with your longer clubs you need to balance from side to side and front to back.

I know that because I don't want to be a much toes I don't need too much of my heel so as I look down I want my weight my center of gravity right here on these white parts of my shoes that tells me that I'm balanced from toe to heel. Now as I grip the club my right hands below my left hand and the golf club which inclines my spine here to the right of center that's going to put just a hint more weight on my right side probably 55 percent. So that's how we're going to make sure we're balanced side to side and back to the front so it's very very important that we get balance. So the weight center on white boards my shoes I've got a little bit of weight on my right side now I am balanced to make a good long iron golf swing and do what I'm capable of doing.
