Between Clubs Swing Speed Adjustments by Tom Stickney Tom Stickney - A Top 100 Golf Teacher Tom Stickney – A Top 100 Golf Teacher

Hi I'm Tom Stickney Golf Magazine Top 100 Instructor and today I want to talk to you about being in-between clubs. Sometimes you might want to choke up and swing a little bit easier other times you might want to swing a little harder. Well what does swinging harder do? What that does is a puts a little more spin on the golf ball and it's going to tend to go obviously a little bit further but you're going to tend to kind of catch a little thin if you're not careful. So a lot of times I tell people to do is if you're in between clubs it is water in front of the green you might want to take that extra club and swing a little bit harder.

That way if you do happen to hit it thin it tends to go a bit further you can take the water out of play. Yeah you might hit the back of the green but it's a whole lot better than being short. So what I like to do if I'm going to hit it further what I'm good at harder what I'm going to do is I want to make sure I stay real still and I'm a big shot make a big turn so here we go stay real still the core make a big big shoulder turn and when I do that I'm going to notice the balls and go a little bit further. Remember you can gear back to swing easier take an extra club or you can take the same club and swing little bit harder it's up to you based on the conditions and what you're trying to do.
