Tom Stickney – A Top 100 Golf Teacher
Hi I'm Tom Stickney Golf Magazine Top 100 Instructor and today I want to talk to you about how to control and educate your hands so you can understand what it does to the golf ball. As I set up a golf shot if the toe the club lags behind the heel the face is open and cuts spin on the golf ball. It looks like this, and we can see that ball kind of blew it off in the right field. If the toe of the club passes the heel the club it tends to put hook spin on the golf ball like so.
So what you need to do as a player is educate your hands hit some cut shots get some draw shots put that different spin on the golf ball and you'll be able to better control the golf ball because you have to educate your hands so you understand how to curve it the way you want to do. So a great way to do that is just to hit a cut shot a little draw shot and what that does is helps you program the golf ball at worst it becomes your B game. You start beat it over the place take a club or 2 extra guided around the golf course but remember if you don't understand how to correlate the clubface with your left wrist it's going to be really difficult for you to move the ball the direction you want.
