The one word that's mentioned to me a huge number of times on the lessons here on a daily basis is consistency. “All I want on my golf Pete is I just want to be consistent I just want to play well every time consistently” and then when they go on the golf course I think OK well let's watch how consistent this person is in terms of what they do. but they might feel like they're trying to be consistent about standing in the same place every time a swing in the club in the same place every time but when you actually dig a bit deeper you realize that their their mood their psychology their mental approaches not consistent at all they might start off on the first hole really Boy it really excited really looking forward to it. They make double bogey down the first this time on the second tee completely deflated their mindsets change their banging clubs then men maybe make a birdie on the fourth hole and certainly the back in the game again their confidence is sky high to go for shots that they would never normally take on.

They try to make more birdies and they make another double bogey and they're confident hits the floor again and you've got to think about your mood on the golf course. If you want to play consistent golf your mood should be consistent as well think about like a share price graph you know when you see the share price and you see that the line going up and down like this and like best you can. I think well as long as the stock generally rising then we're doing OK but these little peaks and troughs we want to try and level those out as much as we can in terms of our emotions if we excite on the thirsty and then we make birdie and then we make birdie and then we make bogey our emotions are going to change but we don't want to change as aggressively. We want to be quite linear in our approach so we take success and failure with the same sort of mental approach if we make a bogey or a double bogey it's fine we're going to move on we're going to get better and if we make a birdie that's really cool that's great let's try and make another one but not let's be too aggressive or two down on myself to think about keeping your mood consistent. So keep your goals consistent to try and keep your scores and your rounds around progress nice and consistent also.
